Gluten Free Fried Mozzarella

It’s been forever since I have been able to have fried mozzarella at a restaurant. With my sever celiac disease it is hard to find options like this that are safe. So, I’ll just make it my damn self! This is pretty easy if a little messy! It cooks crispy and melty and is just perfect with some Magical Mariana sauce!

I have even tried this with Goat milk mozzarella cheese which tends to be a little firmer and may be easier to digest for those of us with dairy sensitives.

One block of low moisture mozzarella cheese 2 eggs 2 Tablespoons milk 1 cup gluten free bread crumbs 1 Tablespoon garlic and herb dip mix 1 Tablespoon grated Romano cheese 1 cup corn starch  
Slice the Mozzarella cheese into 1/2 inch slices and pat dry with paper towel. Heat a skillet to medium high heat. coat with Roasted Garlic infused olive oil. in a medium size bowl Beat the egg and milk together to create an egg wash, set aside. in a separate bowl combine the bread crumbs, grated cheese and garlic mix, set aside. Dredge the mozzarella in corn starch, then in egg wash. Then coat in bread crumbs mixture.  Gently place the coated mozzarella in the hot pan and brown on each side until crisp. Working quickly and in batches repeat with the reaming mozzarella. Top with Marinara sauce and enjoy while hot!

I was fortunate to stop at the Kitchen Witchery booth at Mohegan Sun New England Christmas Festival. I purchased the Magical Marinara and that is what it is “magical” I cooked my meatballs in the sauce. The flavor was delicious with the garlic infused olive oil and a slight kick of red pepper we thoroughly enjoyed it! I will definitely be purchasing it again and will be trying the infused olive oils!
